Fillmore was once the capital of the Utah Territory (pre-Utah statehood), and one wing of the statehouse was built before leaders ended up declaring Salt Lake City as the capital city. Today, the statehouse wing is the Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum, which offers a fascinating insight into the state’s past. Located in Millard County, Fillmore was named for U.S. President Millard Fillmore. Today, visitors enjoy delving into the area’s history and heritage, as well as embracing the area’s opportunities for outdoor adventure.
