What Makes It Great
Brian Head Resort holds miles of trail perfect for hiking and mountain biking that can be accessed by chairlift or by human power. The resort is surrounded by lodging and vacation rentals. From hotel rooms to condominiums you can find the perfect accommodations. Several restaurants and bars are also located at or nearby to meet your needs. If you prefer camping, the surrounding Dixie National Forest has several campgrounds as well as sites found in neighboring Cedar Breaks National Monument.
The bordering forests and mountains are home to stellar trails, parks, and vistas all worthy of exploration. An afternoon would not be wasted visiting Cedar Breaks Monument and you can’t leave without driving to the summit of Brian Head Peak, 11,300 feet. The trails, lodging, and restaurants are open throughout the week. The lifts and base activities operate Friday through Sunday and require a fee.
What You’ll Remember
Watching your children scale the climbing wall, flying down the zip line, and floating down the alpine tube course all while laughing hysterically can’t be beat. Taking a scenic lift ride up then walking slowly down through stands of fir and spruce and into open fields of blooming wildflowers. You’ll be amazed by the scenery and silence.
An afternoon honing your archery skills over at the Navajo Base is great way to add to your mountain experience. And, if you are a fan of disc golf choose either a 9 or 18 pole-hole course and throw your way through these awesome alpine ranges.
If you like to mountain bike, you’ll enjoy plenty of options for lift served trails. From rolling beginner and intermediate to highflying expert level trails, everyone in your group will find something that fits. The resort also offers shuttle rides to and from nearby trails outside its boundary.
After dinner at your condo or at one of the base restaurants be sure to drive the four miles to Brian Head Peak. Parking right on top you will be rewarded with a 360 degree view that includes Cedar Breaks and goes all the way to Nevada. If there was ever a place to watch the sunset this is it.
