As one of Utah’s most popular luxury mountain resorts (in the summer, too), Deer Valley Resort goes out of its way to ensure the best skiing experience possible. Some would argue that having a bad day at Deer Valley is impossible thanks to consistently excellent skiing, ski school, guest services, dining experiences, ski beach, aprés ski and boutique shopping.

Deer Valley Resort limits the number of lift tickets sold daily, grooms like a champion and keeps their season nice and tight to ensure premium ski conditions. Once you travel to this luxury skiers-only resort, you don't have to lift a finger or worry about the details because they've thought of everything. You just have to ski.

Expansion News

The 2024-25 ski season marks the first phase of Deer Valley Resort’s multi-year expansion. Enjoy three new chairlifts on 300+ acres of new terrain and 500 new parking spots at the also-expanding Deer Valley East Village.

For the 2025-26 ski season, Deer Valley Resort will add 2,900 acres of skiable terrain, doubling the resort’s acreage to 5,726 and making it one of North America's largest ski resorts. The total expansion includes 250,000 square feet of retail and commercial space in the Deer Valley East Village.

Passes and Tickets

Preparing for a Deer Valley ski day is vital. This ski-only resort limits the number of skiers on their mountain and often sells out over Christmas break, MLK weekend and President’s Day weekend. Skiers can purchase — single-day, multi-day, beginner and military — lift tickets online, then print them at kiosks at Deer Valley’s base using their email confirmation barcode. The best offers come with multi-week passes purchased long before ski season starts. The full season pass, mid-week season pass, Transferable Pass and Ikon Pass offer the most flexibility and bang for your buck (note that Ikon lift reservations are required at Deer Valley).

Lessons and Ski School

Deer Valley Resort bases its private, group, beginner, advanced, adult and children’s ski lessons on the Gold Standard of Instruction. Like their on-mountain ski capacity, ski school sells out on popular weekends. Reserve your Deer Valley ski lessons as soon as possible. Deer Valley boasts full-day fun for adults whether you’re a Never Ever or steep-slope skier. Adult group lessons are small — a maximum of four students — and are tailored to your level and personal goals. Start kiddos off at age four or continue their education into their teens with full-day instruction and small instructor-to-student ratios. Private lessons yield one-to-one attention for learning to ski, at any age and level. (Read: Learn to Ski & Ride Better)

Resort Information

Who is Deer Valley for?

Deer Valley touts meticulously maintained runs for skiers only. Its famous mountain operations team lays out grade-A corduroy and zen-like trails that appeal to both coast-happy beginners and upper-level intermediate skiers. The snowcats, however, leave a handful of double-black-diamond chutes untouched for the experts.

A Luxury Resort in Park City

Without question, Deer Valley Resort offers a prestigious skiing experience. Manicured runs, velvety snow, majestic overlooks, gracious mountain hosts and a reputable ski school create a hub for high-end trailside residences, an opulent resort and spa, gourmet provisions and sunny ski beaches.

Is Snowboarding Allowed?

Deer Valley Resort is a ski-only resort. Snowboarders can ride at Park City Mountain Resort, three miles from Deer Valley's base.

Parking and Transportation

Deer Valley Resort does not require parking reservations. Still, parking lots fill quickly during peak holidays and weekends, so parking early, carpooling or using the Park City Transit System (free!) is advised. Snow Park Lodge and Deer Valley East Village offer for free parking and complimentary shuttle service. Download the Deer Valley app to view the live parking lot tracker.

Very limited parking exists at Deer Valley's mid-mountain Silver Lake Lodge. Note: Empire Canyon Lodge does not offer parking. See more Utah ski vacation tips.

Restaurants and Places to Relax

Deer Valley Resort offers relaxation and on-mountain eats (don't miss Deer Valley's famous turkey chili) at their three main day lodges — Snow Park Lodge, Empire Canyon Lodge and Silver Lake Lodge — and mountain-top lodge, Cushing's Cabin. Other Deer Valley restaurant options include luxury resorts and lodges that dot the mountainside with ski-in, ski-out breaks.

The Brass Tag

Open nightly for dinner service, The Brass Tag in the Lodges at Deer Valley serves up Italian favorites including ravioli, gnocchi and brick-oven pizza.

St. Regis Deer Valley

Head to St. Regis for an al fresco lunch on the heated outdoor Mountain Terrace, surf-and-turf menu offerings at the rustic RIME, light bites and handcrafted cocktails at the St. Regis Bar, or French comfort food at Brasserie 7452.

Goldener Hirsch

An Auberge Resort, Goldener Hirsch recently expanded upon its Bavarian-inspired dining and lodging options. The Goldener Hirsch Restaurant serves up savory Alpine-influenced Osguthorpe Farms Lamb Loin and Raclette-Bacon Burger, while the Goldener Hirsch Café & Veranda and Antler Lounge dish up gourmet sandwiches, salads and Bavarian pretzels for a mid-mountain snack or a midday meal.

Glitretind Restaurant

Much like the famed ski style of the lodge’s Norwegian namesake, Stein Eriksen Lodge epitomizes slopeside elegance. Inside, the Glitretind restaurant serves award-winning dishes made from fresh, local and sustainable ingredients. If you’re looking for a lively après or a light lunch, hit up nearby Troll Hallen.

Montage Deer Valley

Located atop Empire Pass, the Montage Deer Valley boasts many gourmet options, whether you crave eggs benedict, grab-n-go coffee, burgers and fries, fine dining or handcrafted brick-oven pizzas.

Night Skiing

Deer Valley does not offer night skiing.
