Nordic Valley
- Weather: Partly Cloudy, 31F
Nordic Valley Ski Resort overlooks a spectacular rural landscape just an hour north of Salt Lake City International Airport. The valley feels wonderfully secluded and offers the best of The Greatest Snow on Earth® at a budget-friendly price. In the coldest months, nearby Pineview Reservoir becomes a sea of ice that catches the colors of sunrise and sunset. Long recognized as an ideal mountain for new skiers and riders — a surprising diversity of terrain and Utah's signature snow — Nordic Valley is a world-class resort nestled in the mountains east of Ogden.

Passes and Tickets
Nordic Valley strives for no-fuss logistics when getting on the mountain, starting with economical lift tickets as low as $9 mid-week, to $20+ on weekends and holidays. Want to save a little extra dough? Purchase tickets in advance online to save up to 70 percent.
The Power Pass offers hefty savings and unlimited winter access to Nordic Valley, plus Brian Head Resort and member resorts in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. Reap the rewards of even more savings when you reserve a Power Kids Pass (for ages 12 and under) for free — yes, free — with no blackout dates and no other purchase required: a true power move for little shredders.
Lessons and Ski School
Ease into winter mountain life with a ski or snowboard lesson from Nordic Valley’s professional instructors. Adults enjoy the choice of morning or afternoon two-hour group lessons, whereas kids (and their parents) delight in the option of half- or full-day school. (Read: Learn to Ski & Ride Better)
Take note: Children's group lessons are for kids ages 8-17. For kids 7 and younger, Nordic Valley recommends private lessons. Children and adults benefit from private lessons in one-hour, three-hour or six-hour increments.
Resort Information
Who is Nordic Valley for?
Never-evers, beginners and terrain-park lovers: Nordic Valley is your place. Skiers and snowboarders need not feel guilty about going for just a few hours to tinker around the rarely crowded hill at such an affordable price. However, for those seeking a little more challenge, Nordic Valley added the Nordic Express, a high-speed six-person chair lift, plus 100 more skiable acres that include more intermediate and expert runs.
Where to Stay
There are no lodging accommodations at Nordic Valley, but there are plenty of hotel and short-term rental options in Eden and nearby Ogden. Options include Wolf Creek Resort, Compass Rose Lodge, Alaskan Inn and more.
2024/2025 Season Update
The iconic Nordic Valley Grill, the resort’s only on-mountain dining option, is closed for repairs due to a fire in 2023. However, local food trucks will be on-site to provide various menu options. Additionally, night skiing will be paused this season, as the Nordic Valley team continues to focus on repairing and rebuilding the resort infrastructure. You can read the full update from the General Manager to learn more about the 2024/2025 update.

Falling Star
Black Diamond
Some trails are perfect for hot doggers who want to show off their cool moves to everyone on the lift. Falling Star is one of them. With its direct path down the Alpine lift line, this trail is a great opportunity for experienced skiers to showcase their skills. Practice well, and you may even get applause. If you wipe out, perhaps you'll become the falling star.
-
Gold Rush
Blue Square
The Gold Rush trail offers intermediate skiers the chance to ski from the top of the mountain to the bottom. Hit the Alpine lift to the mountaintop at 6,330 feet, and take your time cruising the curves of the Gold Rush on your tour to the end. Oh look, you’re right at the Alpine lift again. Why not go for a double before you take a rest at the lodge?
