UTA Buses

UTA (Utah Transit Authority) has bus service to northern Utah's major cities from Provo to North Ogden, including extensive coverage in the Salt Lake Valley. UTA's PC-SLC Connect is a limited service between Salt Lake City and Park City. During the winter season, UTA offers rides to the Salt Lake City resorts (Brighton, Solitude, Alta, and Snowbird) and to Powder Mountain and Snowbasin from Ogden.

Looking for a free fare? Stay within downtown Salt Lake and you've got it.  Ride for free when entering and exiting within the boundaries of the Free Fare Zone. It covers all of downtown between Salt Lake Central Station, Temple Square, the Capitol Building, the Courthouse and the Salt Lake Public Library. When boarding a bus, simply tell the bus driver you intend to stay in the zone to ride without charge.

Outside of the Free Fair Zone, use the UTA's trip planning resources to get around. Ticket vending machines typically accept cash and major credit and debit cards. Most TRAX (light rail) ticket vending machines accept credit and debit cards, some accept cash only. There are several pass outlets downtown or use exact change on buses.
