History and Future

The Utah Hockey Club’s entry into the NHL was as bold as it was exciting. Established in April 2024, the team was born from a unique expansion deal that brought the assets of the Arizona Coyotes—players, coaches and draft picks—to Salt Lake City. In a nod to the community’s excitement for their new team, fans were invited to vote on the team’s future name. For now, the Utah Hockey Club moniker remains a placeholder as the franchise continues to grow its identity.

With a permanent name on the horizon and a thrilling first season underway, the Utah Hockey Club is already making its mark. The team’s competitive debut has sparked excitement across the state, laying the groundwork for a serious legacy in Utah’s sports culture.
