Snowbird is home to Utah’s only Aerial Tram and over 2,500 acres of North America’s most coveted terrain. Nestled deep in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird is the closest ski resort as the crow flies to the Salt Lake City International Airport, but feels worlds away due to its awe-inspiring scenery and notoriously deep powder snow. By car, you'll typically find Snowbird in fewer than 45 minutes.

Snowbird not only offers expansive terrain, but also an extensive array of lodging and après activities where you can continue your adventure only steps from the slopes.

Resort Information

Who is Snowbird for?

One look at a Snowbird trail map reveals a plethora of blue and black runs strung along a dramatic landscape. Hotshot skiers and riders embrace the action-packed adventure of Snowbird’s legendary steep slopes and deep snowpack (Snowbird and Alta boast the largest snow totals in Utah). Though intermediate and advanced terrain is plentiful, those who learn to ski and ride at Snowbird can enjoy dedicated learning areas like Chickadee and Baby Thunder.

Aerial Tram Laps

No trip to Snowbird is complete without a ride on the Aerial Tram. Two, 125-person Tram cabins whisk guests up 2,900 vertical feet in approximately 10 minutes to the 11,000-foot Hidden Peak, which also features The Summit — Utah’s highest restaurant. Take in 360 degrees of sensational views, grab a hearty meal at The Summit, then either ride the Tram back down or take your pick of sprawling groomers, steep chutes and wide-open bowls.

Parking and Transportation

While the majority of parking at Snowbird is free and first-come, first-served, those who wish to make a parking reservation have that option by paying for a spot in one of Snowbird's reserved lots. Snowbird recommends carpooling, taking public transportation like the UTA Ski Bus or utilizing shuttle services like Cottonwood Connect to eliminate parking stress.

Those who carpool can utilize dedicated carpool spots and are eligible to receive giveaways on select weekends as part of Snowbird’s Canyon Carpool Club.

Snowbird & Alta Connect

Want to double your terrain? Snowbird and Alta offer the Alta-Bird Pass, which includes unlimited access at both resorts. Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Plus pass holders get access to both resorts as well. From Snowbird, you can ski to Alta via the Alta/Bird Connection near the top of the Baldy Chairlift in Mineral Basin.

Night Skiing

Snowbird does not offer night skiing.

Restaurants and Places to Relax

Guests can also hike to The Summit in the summer while enjoying stunning wildflowers and scenery along the way. Enjoy healthy cuisine with fresh flavors, as well as local microbrews.

Tram Club: The locals’ favorite watering hole, the Tram Club features daily and weekly restaurant and bar specials — along with live music, multiple TVs, pool tables and more — sure to satiate your après desires.

Guests can extend their night at the SeventyOne Lounge (21+ only) and enjoy numerous flat-screen TVs and libations off the late-night menu.

The Cliff Spa: What's better than soaking in a rooftop hot tub after a leg-burning day of skiing? Relaxing in a eucalyptus steam room. Fortunately, at The Cliff Spa, you can find daily yoga and movement classes, a fully furnished fitness facility, and an enticing collection of spa treatments. Note that The Cilff Spa is open to those 16+ and reservations are required.
